8 Reasons To Give Your Body A Break And Energy Boost By Natural Detox (And It’s Better Than Fasting Or Diets)

Your body is a temple. We only get one in this lifetime and it’s no-one else’s responsibility but our own, to keep it in the best health possible. Self-care is real and if you haven’t considered it before, then start today.

But I know you know, and it’s hard not to see or hear health tips and free advice everywhere you turn. However, with work, family, and other life things that get in the way, sometimes it can be difficult to give your body the care it needs. But, what if you could give it the ultimate health boost, naturally and easily, without taking up too much time?

Today, I want to share some facts on body detoxing and how this can lead to permanent health benefits by doing it properly, that is, the natural way, helping you to lose weight without taking pills and why it’s better than fasting or fad diets that always claim to be the next best thing for you.

Most people will start with the word ‘diet’ and immediately feel bad.  Now, body detoxing is a light, enjoyable experience to make your body feel great and be healthy from the inside-out.

This is for everyone because it’s eating natural foods, with fewer additives, simple and easy to fit into your busy daily working and family routine.  If you want to learn how to fit it easily into your budget, then stay tuned. I’m going to tell you just how to do that.

Body Detox Vs Fasting Vs Latest Diets

Do you want to lose weight, or regain focus and have more energy in your life right now? Want your body to feel healthier overall? A lot of people, including my friends get excited when starting new diets to get some of these benefits, or try a fasting session to feel lighter and more focused.

However, they also find that the effects are short-lived and go back to feeling frumpy, sluggish and sometimes worse as you may end up adding to your weight because of the dip that comes after any fad diet. Why is that?

While diets and fasting have their own benefits and place, they can’t clear up things in your body that are weighing you down and making your whole system feel sluggish. This is something that only a real internal body cleanse called a detox can do.

Let’s look a bit closer at body detoxing versus fasting (and the latest diets) to see how much better detoxifying is for you, and how much better it is for your lifestyle and wallet!

Fasting

Fasting used to be done intentionally mainly for spiritual reasons, where people would typically fast for 12-24 hours as an act of devotion. Nowadays, fasting is also often used for weight-loss purposes, using the intermittent fasting methods like the 5:2 rule. While not dangerous in the short term for a healthy adult, its risks can outweigh the benefits. Its benefits include blood sugar control, short-term weight loss, inflammation reduction, can boost brain function, and can promote detoxification.

However, medical experts agree that it’s not healthy. Although it has these benefits, it also has other risks. It is not recommended for people with kidney, liver, or autoimmune problems, as can seriously affect their health and make it worse. Further risks are dehydration, increased stress levels, anaemia, low blood sugar, dizziness, and muscle breakdown. If you have diabetes, heart problems, or autoimmune diseases, you should keep clear of the fasting.

New Diet Fads

No doubt you’ll have heard of lots of different diets flying around at the moment- the keto diet, the gluten-free foods for weight-loss diets, cutting out all carbs or all sugars, and various of the miracle pills. Diets can be good for losing weight, and some of them can help you feel better wellness and energy.

However, there are lots of hidden side effects which I am going to uncover here, that’s bad for your body in the long-term, for short-term benefits and to help you make a conscious decision based on research compared to clever advertising from marketers promising the ultimate body solution.

Most diets involve cutting calories, and people tend to cut carbs. Like with fasting, this can result in people developing nutrient deficiencies. If you’re cutting what you eat, are you getting a healthy balance and variety of vitamins and minerals you need?

People also tend to move onto simple salads, further extending the risk of not getting important proteins, vitamins, and natural sugars their body needs to function.

Detoxing

Detoxing is the process of removing toxins from the body and you’ll be surprised just how many enter our body just from how we live. Even if you make a really good effort to live naturally and healthily, they come from anywhere.

They can come from the air, water, your food (no matter how healthy it is), household and personal care products, and even from stress and other negative emotions. That list can look quite scary- they’re just normal daily things, even if you try to live a stress-free life. So, this is why it’s good to detox every now and then, to remove these daily toxins.

How To Tell If You’re Body Wants A Detox?

The presence of toxins in your body can cause effects that you may not even pin down toxins as being the cause. If you’ve never detoxed, you may even just think they’re normal.

Toxins can cause skin rashes, spots and other forms of unclear and blotchy skin, fatigue, trouble sleeping, lower immune system functions, slower body and organ functions (particularly the liver and stomach where many toxins enter and are stored), indigestion, bloating, weight fluctuations, lower moods, difficulty concentrating, and general feelings of sluggishness.

Some of you may be reading that and recognising symptoms in yourself. If so, let’s get you on a natural detox as soon as possible to get you feeling that new lease of life!

Benefits Of Detoxing Your Body

Detoxing, when removing the toxins, can speed up your body’s processes again, make it feel more healthy and energetic, and give you a new burst of liveliness. You’ll be surprised at how much the toxins slow you down and make you feel sluggish, and you will definitely notice the difference when you detox. Here are more of the benefits you’ll get:

  • Your liver and stomach will work more efficiently, as these are where many toxins enter and are stored in your body from eating and breathing
  • You may feel lighter
  • You’ll find weight management better and easier
  • You’ll feel more energetic
  • Your immune system will be stronger
  • Clearer skin
  • You can help protect yourself against cancer
  • Improves digestion and bathroom functions
  • Your blood will cleanse and circulate better
  • You may sleep better and feel less tired
  • Better, brighter moods and thoughts
  • Increases vitality
  • You may concentrate better and more easily
  • You’ll feel lighter in mood and feel your moods improve

And, as you feel better mentally and physically, your lifestyle will benefit too. With more energy, you can give more time and energy to work, friends, family, hobbies. If you cut out the bad things, you’ll create more room for the good.

7 Simple And Effective Natural Detox Solutions

Your body has natural detoxification abilities, and will be able to monitor the detox levels on its own. However, with the number of toxins that enter your body, particularly if you live in highly polluted areas or cities, it can be beneficial to give it a boost with other natural methods.

As toxins enter your body in different ways, there are detox solutions to help different parts of your body and its functions. You’ll find they’re all normal health recommended things anyway, so fit in with all of your normal health goals.

1. Drink Lots Of Water (With Lemon)

We all hear that it’s important to drink those eight cups a day, minimum. It’s something we’ve been told since childhood. Well, water is one of the most important, naturally detoxifying things on this list. Not only does water eliminate toxins from all over your body, but it also naturally helps with weight loss, good skin, brain health, focus, and many other health needs.

If you want to add an extra kick to your water, add slices of lemon and cucumber and leave it in the fridge overnight. This cooling drink provides extra hydration from the cucumber and good vitamins and detoxifying effects from the lemon. It’s also extra tasty and refreshing.

2. Exercise (sweat it off!)

Exercising is one of the most natural detox methods. Your skin removes toxins via sweat when you exercise, and exercise in general reduces inflammation in your body.  And, if you’re struggling to get to the gym because of the kids and you think they’re overly energetic, drag them along for a local morning run. (I saw someone challenging their kid to sprint to the end of the park road to make it more engaging while they jogged. Worked a charm!)

3. Epsom Salt Baths

I don’t know about you, but I don’t need any persuading to enjoy a relaxing epsom salt bath. I love to add essential oils to it, particularly lavender and tea tree for a bit of extra healing and relaxation. So, I’m chuffed to say that epsom salt baths are an incredible form of natural detox. Providing healing for skin ailments, stress reduction, muscle pain relief, weight management, and general health aid, it covers a wide range of toxin-beating help.

Remove your toxins and balance the body now in a bath- you need no better excuse for a bit of private time!

4. Breathe, Do Yoga, Practice Mindfulness

Breathing deeply calms you down, reducing stress levels, and helps to properly circulate good quality air. Due to this, it’s a top natural detoxification process. Make sure you get some good breathing time in each day.

Add high quality breathing and circulation to something like yoga, with twisting and stretching poses that help you to detox different parts of the body and reduce inflammation, and gives a sweating and exercise boost, too, and you’ve got a high detox session.

Finally, mindfulness. Practice mindfulness for a calm, stress-free, positive way of thinking to detox your inner self. Negative thoughts provide high toxin levels, and can cause other toxins like stress, anxiety, and bad habits. Mindfulness can reduce negative thoughts and help you replace them with good ones. There’s a lot to say about positive energy!

5. Eat Fresh And Clean

A large part of toxin consumption comes from fried, processed, and packaged foods, as well as the pesticide sprays from your fruits and veggies. The best way to naturally reduce the toxins that go into your body is to eat as much fresh food as you can, low in salts and sugars and oils, preferably organic.

You can even do specific detox boosts with smoothies and teas by using detox-aiding fresh foods. A daily smoothie will ensure you consume a good variety of fruits and veggies for a proper nutrient balance, and the naturally detoxifying teas comfort you and your system.

For these, use ingredients like ginger, spinach, apples, avocados, beetroot, and anything high in antioxidants, like blueberries, for detoxifying-boosting smoothies. For natural detox teas, use variations of lemons, ginger, honey, green tea, and berries in hot water.

6. Avoid Or Reduce Alcohol

Alcohol is recognised as a toxin by your body, and your liver works hard to make it harmless and expel it. Drinking lots of alcohol can work your liver too hard and cause health difficulties, and build up too many toxins. To cut down on toxins, also cut down on the amount of alcohol you drink and give your liver a break.

7. Get Lots Of Sleep

We know good quality, long sleep can be the thing you crave most, and it’s an overall health must. The glymphatic system is an important natural detoxification process that occurs when you sleep. Insufficient sleep impairs this and causes toxins to build up, rather than be eliminated.

We know as a busy working woman commuting to the office or full-time home-maker, that grabbing proper sleep is difficult. Try to prioritise your health by having enough hours of rest for yourself as well as everyone in your household.

Key Takeaways

Toxins enter our bodies daily. They can enter through the air we breathe, the foods we eat, the things we put on our skin, and the thoughts we think. While our body has a natural detoxifying process, it’s important to give it a boost every now and again.

A detox can help your immune system, give you more energy, help you sleep better, help you lose weight, clear your skin, and improve your moods, so why wouldn’t you want to do one? They can be really quick and easy, and surprisingly already part of a healthy lifestyle. So, if you’re a busy woman, with work and family already taking up a large portion of your life, these won’t add any extra time.

To give your natural detoxifying system a boost, you can try these eight natural methods to stay healthy:

  1. Drink plenty of water
  2. Ensure good, long sleep
  3. Eat clean, fresh foods
  4. Take epsom salt baths
  5. Avoid or reduce alcohol
  6. Breathe deep and do yoga
  7. Practice mindfulness
  8. Do plenty of exercise

These are all things that we should be doing regularly anyway, so keeping an eye on these for an extra detox boost will help your health with no extra time.

I am a true Detox enthusiast because it’s the only thing that has worked for me and increased my energy levels in less than 30 days. I hate the gym, my doctor told me to take extra vitamins for my lethargy problem and I personally find it hard to do much exercise on top of work and being a single mum.

If any of this resonates with you, I’d be glad to help. Go to my info page here > DETOX 30 days 1:1 < to get started.
